Welcome back
Hi all,
Hope you all had a lovely albeit different Easter break. Just before we begin another week of distance learning I wanted to inform you all that I'm returning from maternity leave this Monday 20th April and will be taking over from Michelle (Ms. Walsh).
I'm also taking the opportunity to outline how I plan to operate our learning this week. It is very similar to how Ms. Walsh set it up so hopefully it won't cause any issues for you all.
I'll post a document called "Week Two Scheme of Work" on Google Classroom (in the classwork section) and here on the school website on Monday morning which contains a menu of work for children to work from this week.
All the materials/assignments for this week will be posted under the heading 20th -24th April in the classwork section of Google Classroom. For anyone who's not set up for Google Classroom please just send me an email and we can work something out.
The scheme will consist of English, Irish, Maths, an SESE topic (so History or Geography or Science; this week it's Science), a topic or theme for Art, an SPHE activity and a Religion topic or activity. For Music, Drama and P.E. I'll just direct children's attention to the Google Classroom sections for each subject.
During the week I will be adding an Irish reading lesson, some English reading activities and an English writing lesson on Google Classroom. I'll mark these as 20th -24th April Part 2.
Feel free to complete the work as and when suits you and your child. I will set a couple of pieces of work from the list above as assignments to be completed for this Friday evening. If there's any issues with completing these, please let me know. Outside of assignments, children can send me pictures/ documents etc. to my email (leoniemcgrath@holytrinitynsfethard.com) of any of the work they complete for me to correct.
The last thing I want is for anyone (parent or child) to be stressed/upset/worried about getting school work completed. If there is anything at all I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me. Hopefully, in the not too distant future , we will be back in school. Until then, I'm really looking forward to getting to know both you and your child.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
Leonie McGrath
