5th class were busy this week with science week. We read about different famous Irish scientists, watched a vlog on the life of a scientist and conducted some experiments of our own.
Monday: We investigated the density of liquids mixing honey, oil, washing-up liquid, water and milk.
Tuesday: We made cars using household items and balloons to propel our cars.
Thursday: We investigated friction, using small toy cars and surfaces with different textures. We wanted to see if the surface affected how far the car would travel.
Friday: In art, we made spinning tops to investigate blending colours together. We also investigated how air is a gas and can take up space by using balloons and balancing on a desk.
