Clonmel Community Soup Kitchen Visits Fethard
Today we were delighted to welcome Amanda Quigley, Ina Doyle and Ann T. to our school. They were invited as part of our Challenge to Change project about homelessness. It was very interesting and refreshing to hear the wonderful work that they do right on our doorstep. We are very lucky to have people like them in our community. We heard about how this wonderful facility came to be, as the ladies brought soup and sandwiches to those who needed it and served it from the boot of their car. This has grown to being a soup kitchen that is open two evenings a week, and on occasions such as Christmas, from a café at the train station in Clonmel, as well as much needed food donations that they deliver to families who need it in the wider area of Tipperary. They also provide clothes bundles to people who need clean and dry clothes. This was a really inspiring story and we are so happy to be supporting them through our food and clothing drive on Wednesday, as well as half of the donations that we receive from the sales of our fundraising C.D.
